Company Team-building With a Difference

Our team-building events blend education with entertainment.

While we take learning seriously, our classes are seriously good fun.

½ DAY, 1 DAY, or 5 DAY

Each one offers something a little different, so you can pick from short and punchy to deeply immersive.

Every session goes at a good pace and we make sure the group is fully engaged from the start.

Class sizes are kept to a maximum of 6 participants, in that way we can ensure everyone gets plenty of attention during their session and nobody feels left behind.

Dates and times are by arrangement.

Hand Skills Boot Camp: 3hrs – £460 inc. VAT

In this lesson, your team will learn the basics of woodworking using traditional hand tools. We’ll take them through the steps necessary to cut a joint that stays together without glue, nails, or screws. It sounds easy but it isn’t.

We have taught this class for over a decade and the overwhelming response is that it is way harder than anyone expected. Don’t worry your team is in safe hands.

Should someone make a decent joint they will win a small prize as well as the all-important bragging points.

Make a Cheese Board: 1 Day – £920 inc. VAT

We go full tilt with the hand plane, the most iconic of woodworking tools. Your team will plane a rough-sawn piece of native hardwood by hand to shape a beautiful, silky smooth serving platter fit to grace the fussiest of dining tables.

On the way, they will learn how to keep the blade razor sharp and set it to take the finest of shavings. Like all of our classes, there are technical challenges sweetened by the satisfaction of a job well done.

Coffee Table Course: 5 Days – £3850 inc. VAT – Up to four participants

This course focuses on using power tools to build a mid-century modern round coffee table. The design is simple yet effective and looks at home in most contemporary living spaces. We use locally grown timbers such as London plane and sycamore so our students can take home something that truly represents where we are.

We will break out our full complement of portable electric tools and your team will get to play with them all, safely of course.

The Tools

  • Routers – including table-mounted routers, trimmers, jig making, and template routing.
  • Circular saws – including the mitre saw, jigsaw, table saw and track saw.
  • Sanders – belt and random orbit.
  • Biscuit jointers and the Festool Domino jointer.
  • Drills – cordless drill driver, SDS drill, and impact driver.

LSF Bespoke Team Building

We are well-versed in all aspects of furniture making so if there is anything in particular that you would like us to cover, please do not hesitate to ask.

Why choose the LSF for your next company away day?

We have been teaching craft courses for over a decade, and during that time we have been able to fine-tune the classes to deliver the best experience to your workforce. Your instructors are professional woodworkers who love teaching what they know with unwavering enthusiasm and good humour.

Yes, we are tool nerds and we look after them like they are our own children. When you come into our studio you will find the walls adorned with some of the best tools that money can buy.

Situated at the heart of a busy commercial workshop means your team gets to see what an authentic woodworking environment is like.

Teas and coffee are provided throughout the day.

Lunch isn’t part of the package. Depending on the day, we will go to one of the local cafes. Our favourite is Craving Coffee which has a very good Asian-fusion lunch menu catering to meat eaters, veggies, and vegans alike. Lest you think they serve only coffee, they also have a range of cold drinks including beer and wine.

Where is the LSF?

The studio is in north London, about a seven-minute walk from Seven Sisters Road and Tottenham Hale underground stations on the Victoria line.

We are also close to the National rail network with trains coming into Liverpool street station via Tottenham Hale. Finally, Overground trains stop at Seven Sisters and South Tottenham.

There is no on-site parking but there is a private parking scheme that operates from Tesco’s 6 mins walk away.
