Description

At last, a professional splinter removal tool kit, built to last and dedicated to the job at hand.

We suffer our fair share of splinters. Some are big enough to pull out with our fingernails, but then there are the tiny splinters that are a devil to see let alone get out easily.

After casting about the internet in vain for a ready-made solution, we decided to assemble a high-quality kit of our own. The collection has proved to be just the thing. We are so pleased with it we thought we would make it available to a wider audience.

Splinter Forceps

Forget about flimsy tweezers; we give you a pair of robust, medical-grade forceps with a powerful grip.

Splinter Probe

Splinters buried deep under the surface need a small section of skin lifted or cut away to expose the end, so we’ve added a top notch scalpel with sterile blades.

Magnifier

Hard to see fragments of wood or glass are much easier to locate with this hands-free magnifier. Pop it into your eye socket like an old fashioned watchmaker.

How to use the splinter removal kit

  • Wash your hands and the affected area with warm, soapy water.
  • Disinfect the forceps and/or the scalpel with the alcohol wipes.
  • Take a good look at the splinter before you start working on it. Make a mental note of how the splinter has entered your skin, what direction it’s going in, and if any part of it is sticking out from the surface.  If you can grip the end, use the forceps to pull the splinter out.
  • Splinters buried below the surface can be removed by gently lifting or breaking the skin with the tip of the scalpel. Once you’ve exposed part of the splinter, use the forceps to remove it by pulling from the same direction it went in.
  • Wash the area again with warm water or wipe with a fresh alcohol swab. If necessary cover the wound with a dressing.
